BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast announce today that they have signed forward Luke Pither for the upcoming ECHL season.
Pither, 31, should be a name that Beast fans are familiar with. The slick forward spent time with the organization in both the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.
Between the two campaigns, Pither scored 26 goals and had 38 assists for a total of 64 points in 63 games. He also contributed eight points in 12 playoff contests.
The past season saw Pither star for EHC Freiburg of the DEL2 in Germany. The crafty scorer potted 21 goals and had 62 points through 47 games.
Pither’s European experience also extends to the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL, Almtuna IS of HockeyAllsvenskan, Klagenfurter AC of EBEL and KalPa of Liiga.
The Burketon, Ontario, native also has extensive experience with the American Hockey Legaue and has suited up for the Adirondack Phantoms, Charlotte Checkers, St. John’s IceCaps, Syracuse Crunch and Utica Comets.
Pither started his career in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kingston Frontenacs and went on to play for the Guelph Storm, Belleville Bulls and Barrie Colts throughout his time in the league.
His trophy case includes being named an OHL Third All-Star Team member in 2009-10 and being named the EIHL’s Player of the Week back in 2019.
