BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast announce today that they have signed defenseman Cameron Heath to an SPC for the 2020-21 season.
The native of Troy, Michigan, Heath spent the past year with both the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers and Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Between the two clubs the defenseman scored two goals and amassed six total points.
Heath also has ECHL experience with the South Carolina Stingrays and suited up for the club in a short stint during the 2018-19 season.
Prior to turning professional, Heath spent four years at Canisius College in the NCAA. The steady defender wore an “A” in his final year and also put up his best statistical season with four goals and 23 points.
Heath’s NCAA career also came with some accolades. During the 2016-17 season, he took home three awards including NCAA (AHA) Best Defenseman, NCAA (AHA) Second All-Conference Team and NCAA (AHA) Regular Season Champion.
He followed those awards up by being named to the NCAA (AHA) First All-Star Team the subsequent season.
