BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – Goaltenders Alex Dubeau and Evan Buitenhuis were the stars of the show on School Day as the Worcester Railers defeated the Brampton Beast 2-0.
The Brampton Beast dueled the Worcester Railers bright and early on Wednesday morning. It was the second Beast School Day game of the season, and the two teams battled in front of a sold out crowd of kids.
The first period saw both clubs come up with some excellent scoring chances, both Alex Dubeau and Evan Buitenhuis were rock solid through he first 20 minutes of play.
After the first frame concluded, Brampton and Worcester were scoreless and the Beast held a shot advantage to the tune of 13-7.
The second period was almost a carbon copy of the first frame. Both Dubeau and Buitenhuis were spectacular in net as they both made a bevy of saves to keep the game scoreless.
After the horn sounded and 40 minutes were in the books, it was a 19-17 shot lead for the Beast but the game was still awaiting its first goal.
The third period saw the only two goals of the contest and both came off the stick of Railers skaters.
A miscommunication between Dubeau and Matt Petgrave led to Nic Pierog taking the puck and firing it into the net to beast Dubeau for the 1-0 lead ay 4:44.
With time winding down and the net empty, the Railers would take advantage of a whiffed clearing attempt and Dante Salituro would hit the open net to seal the deal 2-0.
Dubeau would take the loss and would make 23 saves over the course of the action. Buitenhuis would make 30 and would record his first shutout of the season in the win.

The Beast will travel to Toledo tomorrow for a Friday date with the Walleye. Puck will drop at 7:15 PM on December 6th.
