The Brampton Beast have been fortunate to have some incredibly talented players over the last handful of years. These players put together a fantastic season and were named to All-ECHL teams at the end of the campaign.
It’s time to rewind and dig into why these particular players had such good seasons.
David Vallorani
2016-17 Season
The Hamilton, Ontario native made his return to Brampton after playing two straight years in Europe with Milano Rossoblu and Starbulls Rosenheim respectively.
The shifty forward was a force to be reckoned with and scored a career-high 32 goals and added 51 assists for 83 total points. The 83 point mark still stands as the most ever over the course of a single season by a Beast player.
The team went on a lengthy playoff run the same year and Vallorani suited up in ten postseason games for the squad.
Vallorani earned himself a spot on the -ECHL Second All-Star Team for his wonderful season.
Matt Petgrave
2018-19 Season
Smooth-skating defenseman Matt Petgrave had a memorable campaign during the 2018-19 ECHL season.
The defenseman was key to the success of Brampton power play and scored eight goals while adding 32 assists for 40 points in 50 games.
It was also a big year for Petgrave on the American Hockey League side. He signed a PTO with the Utica Comets and suited up in 12 games where he scored two points.
It was the blueliners first taste of AHL action to date. Upon his return Brampton went into the playoffs where Petgrave had two assists in six games.
He was named to the All-ECHL First Team for his dominant season from the backend.
David Vallorani
2019-20 Season
For the second time in his career, Vallorani makes this list. The talented forward was second in the league with 71 points, tied for second with 31 goals and tied for seventh with 40 assists.
Vallorani’s eight game-winning goals led the league while his seven first period goals were tied for the league lead.
It was the second straight year that Vallorani led the league in game-winning goals and over the course of the season, the forward became the All-Time Beast scoring leader.
His stats with Brampton currently sit at 101 goals and 147 assists for 248 points over the course of 250 games played. This season earned the former Kelly Cup champion a spot on the 2019-20 All-ECHL First Team.
