BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast announce today that they have signed defenseman Derek Topatigh to an SPC for the 2020-21 season.

The smart defenseman recently completed his final year with the Princeton University Tigers and put up five goals and 14 points in 31 games. He spent four years in the program and was named the captain of the squad this past season.

In four seasons with the Tigers, Topatigh suited up in 129 games and had 15 goals and 43 total points.

Prior to Princeton, the Mississauga, Ontario, native played with the Mississauga Rebels, Toronto Lakeshore Patriots and the Orangeville Flyers.

The young defenseman has some hardware in his trophy case and was named an NCAA (ECAC) Champion in 2017-18.
