FAQ's
What is the Family Skating program?
Family Skating is a program created by CAA and the Brampton Beast Hockey Club for the purpose of providing a hockey-day for families to skate together. It is a great activity for individual, family or friend outings, and will ensure a positive experience for everyone!
What is the cost of this program?
Attending this program is FREE, there is no registration fee, and each registrant will be given a Brampton Beast ticket to the home game. For most sessions, the game will be on the same day as the Family Skating Program.
Am I allowed to register for friends/family?
For participants under the age of 18, we recommend that a legal parent/guardian fills out their information. For each family member/friend you are registering, you MUST register them separately. To ensure that there is no registration abuse, we ask that you only register once per date. If you feel that your registration was not processed, please DO NOT register again.
How many spots are available for each session?
There are 50 spots for each of the sessions. You can sign-up for more than one event date but MUST do so separately.
How many tickets are included with my registration?
Every skater will receive one ticket, compliments of CAA. If you require additional tickets, please contact the lfoss@bramptonbeast.com at least 24 hours in advance of the session to purchase additional tickets. If you find out that you need additional tickets less than 24 hours in advance, please proceed to the box office before the game.
Will skates and helmets be provided? If so, who is providing them?
Brampton Beast are happy to be partnered with the not-for-profit organization Skate to Great. Skate to Great is generously providing hockey skates and helmets for each of the 12 sessions for those who require them.
What will specifically be provided:
200-300 pairs of skates
Variety of children's skates
Variety of adult skates
Children's helmets (for ages 6-9)
If you have skates at home we ask that you bring them, otherwise you will be able to sign-out a pair of skates that MUST be returned at the end of the session. Please note that there is a limited number of children's helmets, so we ask that you bring your own, especially if you are aged 10+. Helmets must be CSA approved.

What if they do not have my skate size?
Skate to Great has generously provided skates of various sizes to try and accommodate everyone. In the off chance that we do not have your size, we will guarantee you a spot in during our next session.
Are skate size and shoe size the same thing?
Skate sizes run approximately 2-3 sizes smaller than shoe size, so please be accurate when filling in your shoe size on the registration form.
What clothing/equipment should I wear?
There is no required apparel, however, we recommend that your bring socks and some type of athletic wear that is adequate enough to withstand the cold arena climate. We also strongly recommend that you wear gloves / mittens.
Aforementioned, Skate to Great is providing the skates, but we ask that you bring your own helmet if possible. Must be CSA approved.
Where can I put any equipment I brought with me during the Brampton Beast game?
The CAA Centre does not have a storage facility, so we ask that you leave any clothing/equipment in your vehicle during the game.
Will I need to sign a waiver?
CAA and the Brampton Beast have made efforts to make this a very safe and fun experience, however, you will be required to sign a waiver to signify that you comply and understand any potential risks that are associated with this activity.
