SWISS CHALET PREVIEW: Brampton Beast vs Toledo Walleye

01/15/2017 7:00 AM -

NOTE: Live commentary will not begin until 15 minutes before puck drop.

TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, will attempt to avenge the tough home shutout defeat that was dealt to them by the Walleye last night, and pick up their second win in three games.

STRONG ATTACKER: Power forward Connor Crisp certainly did his best to try and help the Beast take down the formidable Walleye as he produced a team-leading five shots on net. Crisp, a native of Alliston, Ontario, has produced six points in seven total games with the Beast.

BLUE LINE BOOST: The Beast are getting a major reinforcement to their blue line for part two of their weekend series against the Toledo Walleye as Jordan Henry is back from his callup to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Henry did draw into the Americans' showdown against the Toronto Marlies and helped his team earn a 3-2 road win at Ricoh Coliseum.

HIGH-EVENT GAMES: There has been an average of eight goals scored per game in Brampton and Toledo matchups this season.

FORMIDABLE OPPONENT: The Toledo Walleye continue to be a difficult opponent for the Beast to take down. As a result of last night's win, Toledo has now won 17 of 20 lifetime ECHL matchups between these two clubs.

MILESTONE ALERT: Beast Captain Brandon Marino enters tonight's game with 50 assists, a total that is one shy of Jason Pitton's franchise record of 51 helpers. Marino, who has 31 points in 36 games, has a strong opportunity to surpass Pitton for the all-time team points lead later this season. He needs 29 to eke past Pitton's high water mark of 100.

I AM IRON MAN: Beast forward Luc Blain missed his first game of the season yesterday after appearing in the club's first 35 contests. Only two players, Brandon Marino and David Vallorani, have appeared in all 36 Beast games thus far this season.
