TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, are hoping to sweep their two-game home series Powerade Centre against the Quad City Mallards, and open their eight-game homestand with a 2-0 record.

CHANCE TO RISE: The Beast have a chance to climb into fourth place in the North Division if they tame Quad City, and if divisional rival, the Wheeling Nailers, loses their road game to the Utah Grizzlies. The North Division has proven to be highly competitive so far in the 2016-17 ECHL season with five teams of the six teams owning a winning percentage of .550 or greater.

ATTACKING BLUELINER: Veteran Defenseman Jordan Henry was a standout player in game one of the two-game series against Quad City as he scored the ice-breaking goal. The 30-year-old rearguard is a notable presence in the attacking zone in many games as he leads all Beast skaters with 55 shots.

POTENT PK: The Brampton Beast penalty kill has gone a perfect seven for seven over the last two games. The Beast are 5-1-0-0 in games where they do not surrender a power-play goal.

IRREPRESSIBLE OFFENSE:The Brampton Beast are riding an impressive streak heading into their 18th game of the season: They are the only team who have managed to score at least two goals in every game they have played to date.

RED HOT RUN: David Vallorani's active eight-game point streak has seen him pot six goal and six assists. He and David Pacan lead the Beast with 10 goals. Vallorani is second in team scoring with 21 points, which is one point less than Pacan's team-leading 22.

CONTINUING A STREAK:  Well it took almost 20 months, but the Brampton Beast managed to extend their winning streak over the Quad City Mallards to three games! Prior to yesterday's matchup, these two clubs last played each other on April 1, 2015.
