BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announce today a pair of transactions ahead of the club’s Tuesday morning matinee game at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling against the Nailers.
The Beast have signed defenseman Matt Chiarantano to a Standard Player Contract.
Chiarantano, 24, finished his NCAA career with Niagara University last season, where he appeared in a total of 75 games and picked up four goals and 15 assists with 32 penalty minutes.
The 5’9” rearguard made his pro debut with the Beast at the end of the 2015-16 campaign and appeared in three games.
Additionally, forward Connor Crisp has been recalled by the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League.
Crisp, a native of Alliston, Ontario appeared in three contests as a member of the Beast and performed admirably, netting a pair of goals and adding an assist.
The 6’3” power forward has yet to earn a point in two games played with the IceCaps this season.
The Beast return home on Friday, November 18 to host the Elmira Jackals at 7:15 PM.
