BRAMPTON, ONTARIO –The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens, announce today that the club’s AHL affiliate, the St. John’s IceCaps, have assigned gritty forward Connor Crisp to the Beast ahead of this weekend’s trio of games.
The 22-year-old Crisp, a product of Alliston, Ontario, comes to the Beast with 58 games of AHL experience since 2014 that is split between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the IceCaps. He has recorded four goals and three assists for seven points in his AHL career.
Prior to making the jump to the AHL, the 2013 third round pick — 71st overall — of the Montreal Canadiens, starred in the Ontario Hockey League with the Erie Otters from 2011 through 2013 and with the Sudbury Wolves in the 2013-2014 season. He recorded a career high 28 goals and 27 assists for 55 points during his season playing for the Wolves.
In addition to his scoring touch, the 6’2”, 220-pound Crisp will bring size and strength to the Beast lineup. He has racked up over 100 penalty minutes a season three times throughout his junior and AHL career.
