Beast Claim ECHL Rookie Standout Goaltender Fielding Off Waivers

BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John’s IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, have claimed standout ECHL rookie goaltender Drew Fielding off waivers from the Adirondack Thunder.


The 25-year-old played four straight seasons in the NCAA with the University of St. Thomas. Posting his best season of his college career in 2013-14, Fielding played a total of 27 games and posted a 1.43 goals against average.


The netminder played his first seven games in the ECHL with the Adirondack Thunder before being picked up off waivers. In his debut with the Thunder, Fielding stopped all 32 shots, recording his first professional shutout in a 2-0 win against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.


The Beast will be visiting the Reading Royals this Friday, January 22, 2016 and Monday, January 25, 2016.
