Beast acquire Weidauer Ahead of Matinee Against Jackals

BRAMPTON, ON – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John’s IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that SPHL defenseman Christian Weidauer, previously of the Peoria Rivermen, has signed a Standard Player Contract with the Beast and will suit up this afternoon against the Elmira Jackals.


The Keswick, Ontario native spent three seasons in the Southern Professional Hockey League with the Knoxville Ice Bears and Peoria Rivermen.  Prior to joining the SPHL, Weidauer, spent a season with the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League.


The 6’2’’ blue-liner has 71 games under his belt in the SPHL, tallying four goals and 13 assists for a total of 17 points.  In an impressive stint with the Spruce Kings, Weidaeur recorded 13 goals and 35 assists in 58 games played. 



The Beast and the Elmira Jackals are in action at First Arena today, January 18, 2016 at 1:05 p.m.  The Beast return home on January 31 as they host the Wheeling Nailers.
