BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John’s IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that the club has signed veteran defenseman and former ECHL captain Jordan Henry to a Standard Player Contract.
Henry, 29, hails from Milo, Alberta and served as the captain of the ECHL’s Florida Everblades last season and recorded eight goals and 18 assists for 24 points in 35 games played.
The right-handed rearguard spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League, playing in 306 regular season AHL contests between the Rochester Americans, Abbotsford Heat, Chicago Wolves, Oklahoma City Barons, Syracuse Crunch and Charlotte Checkers.
Henry has established himself as a journeyman, having played all over North America as well as in Finland and Sweden and Beast Head Coach Colin Chaulk is excited to add a player of this calibre to the Beast roster.
“We’re extremely excited to add Jordan Henry to this team,” Chaulk said. “Any team and every team is looking for a guy like this to add to the back-end, but the only problem is they can’t find one. For us to have him at this point will only make us better.”
Henry will not be in the lineup this weekend against the Manchester Monarchs but should be ready for game action next weekend against the Elmira Jackals on Saturday night and against the Kalamazoo Wings on Sunday afternoon. Single game tickets are now available, starting at $16.25. Trial Packs for the 2015-16 season are also available starting at $39.99 that include three game tickets.
