Fournier, 23, hails from Dorval, Quebec and established himself as a gritty, yet talented two-way right-winger.
Fournier turned pro in the 2013-14 season and spent the majority of the year playing in the American Hockey League with the Hamilton Bulldogs, suiting up for 40 regular season contests notching two goals and five assists, while chipping in with 86 penalty minutes.
Last season, he split his time between the Bulldogs and the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers. In Hamilton, he suited up for 14 games and recorded one assist and added another five assists in 12 games with the Nailers.
During his junior days, he was a powerful two-way force and captained the Halifax Mooseheads to a Memorial Cup win in 2013. His playoff run was borderline legendary as he scored 16 goals with 13 assists for 29 playoff points in only 17 games.
The 6’3” winger logged two 30-goal seasons in his final two years of junior with the Mooseheads (2012-13) and the Victoriaville Tigres (2011-12).
