Game Preview: Beast vs Mavericks

12/19/2014 11:04 AM -

Tonight's game will be the second meeting in the last ten days for the Mavericks and the Beast, as Brampton continues their 7 game road trip right back where it began.

The Beast came out well in their last game vs. Missouri, scoring two goals just over six minutes after puck drop. But they took their foot off the pedal, most note ably in the second period, and went on to allow five unanswered goals, losing by a final of 5-2.

Tonight, they'll be out for revenge as they try and break their current five game skid, dating back to December 6.

Look for the Beast's penalty kill to be much better than Wednesday game at Quad City. Typically a staple in Brampton's game, the PK cost the beast in their last time out, allowing 3 PPG's against. Expect the PK to be a key in tonight's game.

Brampton will have to tighten up their second period, much like they did vs. Quad City on Wednesday, if they hope to skate away with the win tonight. The Mavericks had four goals in the middle frame last time Brampton was in town, with three of the four coming in under a minute span.

BEAST TO WATCH: Andy Bathgate- Since joining Brampton, Bathgate has 2 assists in four games and has looked better and better as time has gone on. His first Beast, and ECHL goal is not far away.

MAVERICK TO WATCH: Lindsay Sparks- the 5'9, speedy forward tallied two points against Brampton last game and is always dangerous. Especially when he has the puck. Look for Sparks to be a threat once again this evening.
