Brampton Beast captain Cal Wild is excited to announce that the Cal’s Pals program, which has been working with a different Peel region charity or youth organization each month this season, is truly starting to thrive in the local community.
With the help of Wild, his supporters, and their local partners, the Cal’s Pals Program has been able to donate $100 to Kerry’s Place for the month of October, and $500 to JDRF Peel for the month of November. Kerry’s Place is Canada's largest service provider for children, youth and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, serving more than 8,000 people with ASD and their families each year, while JDRF Peel is a local organization that uses both research funding and advocacy in the search for an end to type 1 diabetes (T1D).
On the ice, Wild has been chipping in offensively and is currently tied for 4th in scoring on the Beast with 8 points (2 goals and 6 assists) in addition to being one of the team’s best two-way players.
His program has received support from the Beast community as some incredibly generous season ticket holders have decided to match Cal’s donation to enhance his contribution and make a larger impact in Brampton and the surrounding area.
For the month of December, Cal’s Pals program will be raising money for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, a unique Canadian charity that helps children, families and communities by granting the favourite wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. To donate to The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, fans can simply text WISH to 80100 to donate $10.
