BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast have made multiple transactions ahead of this weekend’s series at the Powerade Centre against the Wheeling Nailers.
The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, is proud to announce that forward Scott Jacklin will be returning to the Beast after signing a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the 2017-18 ECHL season.
Jacklin, 27, returns to the Beast after playing 10 games in Denmark earlier this season with the Herlev Eagles, where the feisty forward accumulated 37 penalty minutes. The third-year pro from Kimberley, British Columbia, has 82 ECHL games under his belt split between the Brampton Beast, Elmira Jackals and the Norfolk Admirals. In his time in the ECHL, Jacklin has accumulated 44 points and 50 penalty minutes.
Beast forward Thomas Ebbing has been recalled to the American Hockey League’s Laval Rocket.
Ebbing, 23, attended the Montreal Canadiens rookie camp in September, and was sent to Brampton to start the season. The Troy, Michigan, native played five games with Brampton before being called up. In his short stint in the ECHL, the former Michigan University product had four points with the Beast.
Defenseman Jordan Murray has been reassigned to the Brampton Beast from the Belleville Senators. The Moncton, New Brunswick, native tallied an assist through three games with Belleville this season.
The 24-year-old defenseman was a USports standout at the University of New Brunswick. Murray helped lead the Varsity Reds to back-to-back CIS championships in 2015-16 and 2016-17, and was also named CIS Defenseman of the Year in both seasons.
Notes: Beast forward Stefan Fournier will miss the next five games due to a suspension he received after coming out of the penalty box to fight Kalamazoo Wings defenseman Mackenzie Stewart last Sunday. Jacklin and Murray are expected to make their season debuts this weekend against Wheeling.
