08/21/2017 2:01 PM -

You’ve spoken with us on the phone. You have seen our smiling faces at the Powerade Centre. Now, it’s time to get to know us.

Starting Tuesday, August 15, the Brampton Beast will be posting Staff Profiles, giving you, the fans, a chance to learn a little bit more about those who work behind the scenes to help make the Brampton Beast a success.

Today, we’re asking 25 questions to Beast Group Sales Coordinator, Matt O'Reilly.

Q: What’s your name?

A: Matt O’Reilly

Q: What’s your role with the team?

A: I’m the Group Sales Coordinator. I look for groups of people who I think would enjoy a Beast game and try to make their night an enjoyable one.

Q: How long have you been with the team?

A: This season will be my third with the Beast.

Q: Favourite Beast moment?

A: Brandon MacLean’s double overtime game-winner against Reading during the most recent playoff run. It was the biggest jolt of energy I’ve ever heard inside the Powerade Centre.

Q: Favourite thing about your job?

A: I enjoy being able to be creative and I enjoy the challenge of trying to fill the arena.

Q: What did you do in school?

A: I attended Brock University from 2011 to 2015 and I studied Sport Management.

Q: Favourite song or artist?

A: I’m enjoying the new songs from Avicii right now. ‘Lonely Together’ is a great track.

Q: Favourite food?

A: I’ve always been a huge French Fries guy. Always heavy with the salt and vinegar.

Q: What’s your favourite candle scent?

A: Either vanilla or pumpkin. If there’s a vanilla-pumpkin scented candle, that would be it.

Q: How many countries have you been to?

A: Let’s see. Canada, USA, Mexico, three of the Caribbean islands, Italy, Spain, Germany, and I’ll be adding Scotland to the list next week! Loved Italy the most.

Q: What was your favourite TV show when you were a child?

A: Recess or the Weekenders. Love the camaraderie within the groups. They’re good pals.

Q: What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were eight?

A: I dressed up as a dice. I wore this big cardboard box with my legs and arms sticking out of it. It was awesome. I had to hold my trick-or-treat bag straight out for like three hours. I got so sore.

Q:  Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook?

A: Titanic. It’s low-key on my top five list.

Q: How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?

A: Including flip flops? What about golf shoes? Seven, including golf shoes.

Q: Dog or Cat?

A: Dog. They’re nice AND cute!

Q: Netflix or YouTube?

A: YouTube all day. I could spend hours on YouTube.

Q: Cake or Pie? Cake.

A: Cake is the BEST dessert.

Q: Football or Basketball?

A: Don’t like football. LOVE basketball. OG Anunoby, the Raptors’ first round pick this year, is a boss.

Q; Is a hotdog a sandwich?

A: No. The bun comes out from the side. It doesn’t separate like a sandwich!

Q: Reading or writing?

A: Reading. I write nothing. I read most nights. I read a lot of different things but I read a lot of history.

Q: Singing or dancing?

A: I’m both, man! If I had to choose just one, I’d dance. I’m a better dancer than I am a singer.

Q: Google or Bing?

A: What’s Bing?

Q: Steak or chicken?

A: Steak. Just way juicier and tastier!

Q: TV Shows or movies?

A: Movies. I don’t even watch TV shows. I watch one or two movies a week. Just watched the Brad Pitt movie on Saturday night. 3/5 stars for me.

Q: Breakfast or dinner?

A: Breakfast. I’m hungrier at that point of the day. That early in the morning, any meal is great.
