Top 10 Moments of the 2016-17 Season - #2 – What a Crowd

The Powerade Centre in Brampton was as busy as its ever been during the 2016-17 ECHL season, as more fans than ever walked through the turnstiles during the club’s record-breaking season.

A total of 111,813 fans took a seat to watch the best ever Beast squad over the course of 36 regular season contests, an average of 3,106 fans per game.

The 2016-17 season not only marked the first time ever that the Beast averaged over 3,000 fans per game, it is the highest ever annual attendance total in the history of high-level hockey in the history of the City of Brampton.

The Beast saw a big boost in attendance compared to the 2015-16 season. The average annual attendance grew from 2,784 fans just a season ago to 3,106 fans per game, a growth of over 300 fans per game.

The club’s attendance growth was the second largest in the entire league at 11.6% and was highlighted by an unprecedented six games with an attendance of over 4,000 fans, including four sold-out school day contests.

To commemorate the #2 Moment of the 2016-17 season, the Beast will be auctioning off a Route 22 Game Worn Warmup Jersey worn by the ECHL’s reigning leading goal scorer, #61 David Pacan.
