BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announce today their complete 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
Once again, the season will comprise 36 home games and 36 road games that see the Beast square off against 17 of the ECHL’s best clubs in their quest for the franchise’s first Kelly Cup championship.
The Beast will kick off their fifth anniversary season on the road against their heated North Division rivals, the Adirondack Thunder, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
Beast fans will not have to wait long to get their chance at revenge against the Beast’s 2016-17 second round Kelly Cup Playoff opponent, the Manchester Monarchs, as the Los Angeles Kings’ ECHL affiliate descends on the Powerade Centre for the Beast’s Home Opener on Sunday, October 15, 2017.
This season, the ECHL will introduce two new teams, the Jacksonville IceMen and the Worcester Railers, and Beast fans will get the opportunity to witness both of these new clubs live at the Powerade Centre.
The Beast and the IceMen will meet twice in the 2017-18 season and will have their first meeting at the Powerade Centre on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Brampton will have to wait until the calendar flips to 2018 to make its first trip to Jacksonville, as the IceMen host the Beast on Sunday, February 25, 2018.
Brampton and Worcester will quickly become acquainted in the 2017-18 season, as these two teams are scheduled to play seven games against each other. The Beast will make their first trip to Massachusetts for a game on Tuesday, November 14, 2017. The Railers will make their inaugural trek north to the Powerade Centre for a match on Sunday, December 10, 2017.
The 2017-18 schedule will see the Beast facing off against five teams they did not face in 2016-17, including a combined ten games against their former Central Hockey League rivals, the Rapid City Rush, as well as the Norfolk Admirals, Atlanta Gladiators, Greenville Swamp Rabbits and South Carolina Stingrays.
Students across Peel Region will again have the opportunity to leave the classroom for the arena this season as the Beast have scheduled four school day games. On just the third game of the season, the Powerade Centre will be packed with thousands of screaming kids as the Beast host the Monarchs on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
