SWISS CHALET PREVIEW: Brampton Beast vs Manchester Monarchs

NOTE: Live commentary will not begin until 15 minutes before puck drop.

TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, will try to force a Game 7 against the Manchester Monarchs, ECHL Affiliate of the LA Kings, in the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs North Division Finals                                     


HOLY TRACCITTO: Reggie Traccitto has been a force to be reckoned with the last two games with a goal and an assist for two points providing some much-needed offense from the back-end. On the power play In Game 5 it was Reggie who scored the Beast’s game-winning goal, launching a bomb of a one-timer past goaltender Sam Brittain, for his first ever ECHL Playoff goal, giving Brampton the 2-1 lead.                                     


POWER PLAY HEATING UP: In Game 5 of the North Division Finals the Beast scored on 2-of-3 power plays to earn themselves the 2-1 victory over the Monarchs. David Ling captialized on a rebound with precise shot from along the goal line and Traccitto scored the game winning goal after being teed up by Jordan Henry for the one-timer at the blueline. Before Wednesday night's game the Beast had scored just three goals with the man-advantage through 12 games.                                           


TIGHT GAMES: In games that are within one-goal of each other the Beast have come out on top more often than not. Brampton is 5-2 in one goal games.                                               


SERIES LEADERS: The Beast have four players with the three points in their second round series to lead the team in points: Connor Crisp (2G, 1A), Traccitto (1G, 2A),  Luc-Olivier Blain (1G, 2A) and Luke Pither (3A). For the Monarchs Daniel Doremus leads the way with six points (3G, 3A). Daniel Ciampini and Matt Leitner each have five points with two goals and three assists respectively.                                              


PLAYOFF MILESTONES: Beast forward Brandon MacLean has scored a total of five points in this post season so far bringing up his career postseason total to 27 points in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Over three career postseason appearances between the Brampton Beast and the Florida Everblades MacLean has an overall plus-minus of +17.                                     


HOME SWEET HOME: During the 2017 ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs the Beast have been able to win four of their previous five playoff games in the friendly confines of the Powerade Centre. During the season the Beast accumulated a record of 20-12-1-3 here at home in Brampton.
