BRAMPTON, ONTARIO – The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, announce today that goaltender Zachary Fucale has been reassigned to the Beast from the Canadiens’ American Hockey League affiliate, the St. John’s IceCaps.

Fucale, 21, last played for the Beast against the Orlando Solar Bears on March 26 before being summoned to the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens for emergency backup duty on March 28.

He was reassigned to the IceCaps on March 29 and appeared in one contest, stopping all 24 shots he faced to help the IceCaps to a 5-0 win over the Binghamton Senators on April 8.

As a member of the Beast this season, the Laval, Quebec native appeared in 46 games and posted a 25-12-2 record to accompany a 3.17 goals against average and a .898 save percentage.

Fucale remains among the ECHL league leaders in games played (6th), minutes (6th), victories (6th) and shutouts (T3rd with four).

The Beast start their ascent toward the Kelly Cup on Thursday, April 13 at Santander Arena against the Reading Royals in the North Division Semifinals. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00PM.
