SWISS CHALET PREVIEW: Brampton Beast vs Orlando Solar Bears

TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, look to get their first win against the Orlando Solar Bears after a heartbreaking 3-2 SOL to Orlando on Friday night.                                            


A NEW FRANCHISE ALL-TIME POINTS LEADER: Beast captain Brandon Marino has 104 points as a member of Brampton. Since taking over sole position of No. 1 on the all-time point scorer list for Brampton. The Riverside, California native has produced back-to-back games with a goal and an assist.                                            


AN EMERGING THREAT: Power-forward Connor Crisp has racked up seven points (3G, 4A) in his last seven games creating havoc around the front of the net for his opposition during that stretch. The Alliston, Ontario native has 26 points in 36 games with Brampton (12G, 14A) this season and provides a strong presence on the Beast's top line with Pacan and Marino.                                                                                         


BAD BLOOD FOR BITTER RIVALS: The Beast and Solar Bears showed their true colours during the first two games of the affiliation series. Orlando and Brampton combined for 38 minutes in penalties on 19 infractions over the last two games.                                     


TIME IS RUNNING OUT: Including today's game, the Beast have seven games remaining in the regular season, including four home games and three road games, including five games against North Division opponents. The North Division is the only division in the ECHL in which a team has not yet qualified for the playoffs.                                       


TIGHT NORTH DIVISION: The Beast are now in second in the North Division with 80 points on the year after earning a point in their shootout loss. The Adirondack Thunder are in first with 81 points, the Manchester Monarchs and Reading Royals are close behind tied for third with 79. Wheeling also is in the hunt for a post season berth with 72 points just 5 back after playing 67 games so far this season.                                             


LEAGUE LEADERS: David Vallorani is fourth in the ECHL points scoring race with 77 (28G, 49A) in 65 games played. Pacan is tied for first in the league with 36 goals along Brendan O'Donell. Zachary Fucale is tied for third in the league in shutouts with four on the year to go along with his 25 wins.
