TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, hope to make it three straight wins as they host the affiliates of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Orlando Solar Bears.
HEAD TO HEAD MATCHUP: The Beast and the Solar Bears have met three times in Orlando early in the 2016-17 season. The Solar Bears took all three matchups back in November and own a 3-0-0-0 record against Brampton this season, outscoring the Beast 14-8 in the process. Orlando owns a 6-0-0-0 lifetime record against the Beast.
STREAKY BEAST: Beast forward Connor Crisp has recorded points in four of his last five games, picking up two goals and three assists. Goaltender Zach Fucale allowed only two goals on 58 shots in back-to-back wins against Elmira and Fort Wayne last week. Beast defenseman and assistant captain Jordan Henry remains red hot with seven goals and three assists in his last nine games. David Vallorani hasn't scored since Mar. 9 but has recorded six assists in his last five games played.
SHUTTIN' 'EM DOWN: Goaltender Zach Fucale made 30 saves to earn his 4th shutout of the season on Sunday against Fort Wayne. His four shutouts are tied for third most in the ECHL.
ONE MORE POINT: Beast Captain Brandon Marino already took over the Beast all-time assist record earlier this season and now he has his eyes on a bigger prize. Marino is tied with Jason Pitton for the club's all-time points record, currently set at 100 points. Marino's next point will give him the all-time franchise lead in points.
TIGHT NORTH DIVISION: The Beast remain atop the North Division standings with 79 points in 63 games. The Adirondack Thunder are right behind with 78 points in 64 games. Occupying third place are the Manchester Monarchs with 77 points in 64 games. The fourth and final playoff spot is currently held by the Reading Royals with 76 points in 64 games.
LEAGUE LEADERS: David Pacan is in a tie for second place the league goal-scoring race with 35 goals. Vallorani is tied for third in league points with 75 (27G, 48A). Beast defenseman Jordan Henry is tied for 10th in league plus-minus at +25 and his 14 goals are tied for fourth most among league defensemen.
