TODAY'S GAME: The Brampton Beast, the ECHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, hope to push their point streak to eight games as they head to Kalamazoo to take on the Wings.
GETTING CLOSER: With their win over Adirondack on Tuesday morning, the Beast have now reached 32 victories for the first time in their ECHL history. They now have their sights set on the club's franchise wins record, set at 33 victories by the 2013-14 Central Hockey League squad.
FEBRUARY RECORD: The month of February was kind to the Beast as they compiled an impressive 11-1-2 record, playing a busy schedule of 14 games in 28 days. David Pacan led the way offensively for Brampton, scoring 11 goals and adding 11 helpers while maintaining a +14 rating en route to being named CCM ECHL Player of the Month for February.
PLUS PLAYER: Not to be outdone, Beast defenseman Jordan Henry also recorded a banner month in February, scoring five goals and adding seven assists. His +20 rating was enough to take home the ECHL Plus Performer of the Month award.
THE PUCK STOPS HERE: Beast netminder Zach Fucale may be the hottest goaltender in the ECHL as he is coming off back-to-back shutouts over the Florida Everblades and Adirondack Thunder, both by a score of 3-0. He has won his last four starts and has not allowed a goal since late in the third period against Manchester on Feb. 24. His shutout streak now stands at 122:28 heading into tonight's game.
TIGHT NORTH DIVISION: The Beast remain atop the North Division standings after 55 games played with 71 points. The Manchester Monarchs are one point back at 70 points. The Adirondack Thunder aren't far behind at 68 points. The Reading Royals occupy fourth place in the division with 67 points, while last season's Eastern Conference champs, the Wheeling Nailers are currently on the outside looking in with 60 points.
LEAGUE LEADERS: David Pacan is tied atop the league goal-scoring race with 32 goals. David Vallorani is sixth in league points with 64 (25G, 39A). Zach Fucale is tied for fourth in shutouts with three and is third in games played with 37.
